IFR: In 2017, the global robot scale reached US$23.2 billion, and the Chinese market accounted for 27%.

On August 23, at the World Robotics Congress, the Chinese Institute of Electronics released the "China Robot Industry Development Report (2017)". According to the report, the Chinese robot market is expected to reach US$ 6.28 billion in 2017, with an average growth rate of 28% in 2012-2017. Among them, industrial robots are 4.22 billion US dollars, service robots are 1.32 billion US dollars, and special robots are 740 million US dollars.

This report is the result of the phased research of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's 2016-2018 financial special project "Building China's Robot Group Standard System and Industry Information Resource Library". With the aim of judging the development level and characteristic trend of the domestic robot industry in 2017, we adopt a combination of qualitative judgment and quantitative analysis to deeply analyze the development level of robot industry in various regions of China, and compare and analyze the development trend of robot technology and industry at home and abroad. It provides reference for the development direction, path and mode of the domestic robot enterprises, and provides decision support for the formulation of relevant industrial policies by the state, promotes the construction of a stable and stable industrial ecological environment, and guides the standardized and innovative development of robots in China.

Chapter 1 Global Robot Industry Development Trend

At present, the scale of the global robot market continues to expand, the growth rate of the industrial and special robot markets is stable, and the growth rate of service robots is outstanding. Technological innovations continue to deepen in bionic structure, artificial intelligence and human-computer cooperation. The application of products in education, medical rehabilitation, hazardous environment and other fields continues to expand. The forward-looking layout and investment mergers and acquisitions are extremely active. The global robot industry is ushering in a new round. increase.

First, the global market size

In 2017, the global robot market is expected to reach US$23.2 billion, with an average growth rate of nearly 17% in 2012-2017. Among them, industrial robots are 14.7 billion US dollars, service robots are 2.9 billion US dollars, and special robots are 5.6 billion US dollars.

(I) Industrial robots: sales are growing steadily, and the Asian market still has the most potential

At present, industrial robots have been widely used in the automotive, metal products, electronics, rubber and plastic industries. With the continuous improvement of performance and the clarification of various application scenarios, the market for industrial robots is growing at an average annual rate of 15.2% since 2012. According to IFR statistics, global industrial robot sales exceeded US$13.2 billion for the first time in 2016, with sales in Asia of US$7.6 billion, sales in Europe of US$2.64 billion, and sales in North America reaching US$1.79 billion. Sales in major countries such as China, South Korea, Japan, the United States and Germany accounted for three-quarters of global sales. The demand for industrial automation in these countries has activated the industrial robot market and has greatly increased the density of industrial robots worldwide. In the global manufacturing sector, the density of industrial robots has exceeded 70 units/10,000. In 2017, industrial robots will become more popular, with sales expected to exceed $14.7 billion, of which Asia will remain the largest sales market.

(2) Service robots: the rise of artificial intelligence, the industry is welcoming new opportunities for rapid development

With the rapid development of information technology and the rapid spread of the Internet, with the introduction of the 2006 deep learning model, artificial intelligence has ushered in the third rapid development. At the same time, relying on artificial intelligence technology, intelligent public service robot application scenarios and service models are expanding, driving the rapid growth of the service robot market. In 2017, the global service robot market is expected to reach $2.9 billion. It will grow rapidly to 6.9 billion U.S. dollars in 2020, with an average growth rate of 27.9% in 2016-2020. In 2017, the global market for medical service robots, home service robots and dedicated service robots is expected to be US$1.62 billion, US$780 million and US$500 million, respectively. The market for medical service robots accounts for up to 55.9%, which is higher than that of home service robots. 29 percentage points, of which the proportion of intelligent service robots increased rapidly.

(3) Special robots: Emerging applications continue to emerge, and governments have successively launched strategic layouts.

In recent years, the performance of the global special robots has continued to improve, and it has continuously spawned emerging markets, which has attracted great attention from governments. In 2017, the global special robot market will reach 5.6 billion US dollars; by 2020, the global special robot market is expected to reach 7.7 billion US dollars, with an average annual growth rate of 12% from 2016 to 2020. Among them, the United States, Japan and the European Union are leading the world in the field of special robot innovation and marketing. The United States proposed the "Robot Development Roadmap" and plans to list special robots as the key development direction for the next 15 years. Japan proposes the "robot revolution" strategy, covering three main directions: special robots, new century industrial robots and service robots. It plans to double the market size to 2020 billion by 2020, among which special robots will be the fastest growing. field. The EU launched the world's largest civilian robot research and development project, and plans to invest 2.8 billion euros by 2020 to develop robotic products including special robots and quickly bring them to market.

It replaces human beings in dangerous labor in more special circumstances. At present, special robots have a certain level of autonomous intelligence. By comprehensively applying sensors such as vision and pressure, deep integration of soft and hard systems, and continuous optimization of control algorithms, special robots can complete positioning, navigation, obstacle avoidance, tracking, and two-dimensional code recognition. , scene perception recognition, behavior prediction and other tasks. For example, Boston Dynamics has released the two-wheeled robot Handle, which achieves stable control of jumping while fast-sliding. With the intelligence of special robots and the adaptability to the environment, it has a very broad application in military, riot, fire, mining, construction, transportation, security monitoring, space exploration, explosion protection, pipeline construction and many other fields. prospect.
