OLED will hardly become mainstream within five years

And these views are derived from Hisense's own in-depth research on OLED technology. At the same time, Hisense has ruled out the possibility of the subsequent launch of OLED TVs. If OLED development becomes more mature in the future, such as ten years, it will gain market recognition and consumer acceptance, and will comply with market demand to launch OLED TVs.

ULED is still comparable to OLED

"At present, Hisense's strategy is to promote ULED TV and accelerate the advancement of laser television," Zhou Houjian told the media. For the moment, Hisense's ULED TV has applied a new type of backlight technology, which is mainly to set up the partition of the backlight and increase the maximum brightness of the single block. In the color saturation, contrast, brightness, no loss of OLED, data show that the dynamic contrast between the two are more than one million level, color reproduction, OLED oversaturation, color distortion and other distortion phenomenon, and ULED bright colors and natural , Brightness, power performance ULED are dominant, in addition, ULED picture does not appear jitter.



It can be seen that ULED is essentially a liquid crystal display technology and then optimized for backlighting, and OLED is a next-generation display technology that is significantly better than LCD. OLED has a simple sandwich structure with a very thin layer sandwiched between two electrodes. In organic materials, when there is a current passing through, these organic materials emit light, their dark field is better controlled, and they can be made thinner. It can be said that ULED is currently comparable to OLED technology that is not mature enough, but in the end it is still difficult to call OLED.

Will vigorously develop laser television

Zhou Houjian believes that laser television is the next generation of mainstream display devices. It has a large size, high brightness, high color gamut, 4K high resolution technology in one. At present, it has begun to vigorously develop this technology to replace the current mainstream LCD technology. At the end of the year, it will launch second-generation laser television products and further promote it next year. For heat generation and laser beam safety issues of laser TVs, Hisense has stated that the luminous efficiency of laser display technology is increasing at an annual efficiency of 10%. Currently, the technology suitable for viewing brightness of 400 nits is mature, and the heat dissipation and energy consumption problems are high. It has been basically solved; and the possible safety problem of the laser beam has also been set by the sensor. When sensing a certain range of people, it will automatically reduce to the safe brightness.
