According to foreign media reports, Google is planning to create a brand new notebook category. From the picture, it is much like an enlarged version of a dual-screen folding smart machine, but it also allows splitting the upper and lower segments separately for independent use. In the fitted state, the upper part can be used as a screen and the rest part can be used as a touch keyboard. However, at the first sight of it, Lenovo launched the Yoga Book series. Because the lower part of this machine can almost become any form the user wants, such as notebooks, graphics boards, and tablet computers.
As early as October 2016, foreign media SlashGear wrote a complete evaluation of Lenovo Yoga Book. But unlike the former, the lower part of Google’s dual-screen device is not just a touchpad with a backlight.
It should be pointed out that Google's concept is still a long way from going public, and its price may also be more expensive than the Lenovo Yoga Book.
The concept device can be split into two separate devices that include hardware such as CPUs, GPUs, memory, user interface modules, display screens, touch feedback, sensors, cameras, speakers, network access, and power modules.
This "two in one" supports multiple modes of use, and after the fit, the two modules can share computing performance and other resources, and only need one power cord to charge (as a flip notebook).
Google said: "After the fit, the energy and storage space of both modules can be aggregated, and battery charging and sharing can be achieved. After splitting, even the modules can run completely autonomously and bring you sufficient flexibility".
Google submitted this device patent application to the U.S. Trademark Patent Office (USPTO) in May 2016, but it was not announced until this week.
