Google acquires "Work Simulator" developer for VR content

Today, Google announced that they had acquired Owlchemy Labs, the developer of the VR game "Job Simulator," but did not disclose the purchase price.

Google VR Engineering Director Relja Markovic wrote in his blog that Google’s existing content team will work with Owlchemy Labs to create a new VR experience. The studio will also continue to develop content on other platforms such as HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.

Owlchemy Labs has helped many people define virtual reality. The "Work Simulator" game has achieved impressive sales based on natural interactions and realistic experiences. By 2016, its revenue has exceeded $3 million. The studio's follow-up game "Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality" also made its debut in April, giving players a special experience.

Markovic said: "Today, we are pleased to welcome Owlchemy Labs to Google. They have created award-winning games such as Job Simulator and Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality. These games are sensitive, intuitive and natural. After a thoughtful experience, they created an interactive experience. They made a great contribution to the sense of participation in the virtual world, and also achieved humor.
