BOE plans to mass produce 65-inch panels next year, and it is expected to increase its volume in 2019. In the 65-inch, 75-inch panel field, by 2020, the market share will be nearly 40%.
In 2018, three new plants in the mainland will be put into production, which has attracted much attention from the market. WisView research manager Hu Jiaxuan said that the first product of BOE 10.5 is locked into a 65-inch panel. The two 8.6-generation plants of the CLP Group are aimed at 50-inch and 58-inch, which will drive the shipment of large-size TV panels. It is expected that by 2020, BOE is expected to win nearly 40% market share in both 65-inch and 75-inch panels.
In 2018, only the new factory in the mainland panel factory was put into production, and most of the others were slightly expanded. WitsView estimates that the total TV panel shipments will only grow by about 5% in 2018. Among them, CLP Group has an annual growth rate of 58.6% due to the launch of two new plants, Xianyang 8.6 and Chengdu 8.6. Huike is due to the expansion of the 8.6-generation plant and the improvement of production yield. The shipment is estimated to grow by 118.2%. In addition to the 10.5-generation plant, BOE has an expansion of 8.5-generation plants, with an annual growth rate of 4.7%.
According to WitsView, the TV panel shipments of the mainland panel makers in 2018 were about 38.64%, surpassing South Korea's 32.28% and Taiwan's panel double tigers' 25.54%.
In addition to the rapid increase in shipments, the new capacity of the mainland panel factory has also begun to lock in larger TV panels, resulting in changes in the overall TV panel size distribution.
Hu Jiaxuan said that oversized panels of 50 inches or more are large in size and easy to dismantle production capacity, and most of them are equipped with 4K technology, with high turnover and good profit, attracting various panel manufacturers to compete. It is estimated that the proportion of 50-inch TV panel shipments will increase to 17% in 2018, and the proportion of TV panels above 60 inches will also be 7.2%. The 40-45-inch panel was due to Samsung's reduced production capacity, which fell to 20.2%. The 32-inch panel is supported by the demand of emerging markets such as Southeast Asia, and the proportion of shipments remains at 30.7%.
BOE 10.5 is locked in 65-inch and 75-inch large-size TV panels. The Taiwan-Korea panel factory has already deployed this year, raising 65-inch shipments to 11 million units this year, and 75-inch shipments reaching 1.6 million units. Up to 123.6%.
BOE will start mass production of 65-inch panels next year, and it is expected to increase its volume to 21% in 2019. It will further climb to 37% in 2020.
The 75-inch panel is based on the Korean panel factory. In 2017, the total share of Samsung and LGD was as high as 73%. The 75-inch panel was cut in 10.5 generations. It is also the economic cutting size. By 2020, the BOE 75-inch share rate is as high as 42%. , far ahead of South Korea's 27%.
