From the beginning of this year, there is news that Samsung Note8 or Apple iPhoneX will be equipped with fingerprint recognition technology under the screen. However, when the two new machines were released to the public, the fingerprints on the screen were missing.
And, due to a dedicated full-screen design, Samsung's Note8 fingerprinting is placed on the back of the phone, and iPhoneX is directly deprecating TouchID. The lack of fingerprints on the screen has become a big regret for these two phones.
Today, Synaptics announced the launch of the world’s first under-the-screen fingerprint sensor, model ClearIDFS 9500.
According to reports, the FS9500 is directly packaged in the AMOLED display module, using the same optical materials and processes as the standard OLED, and the final thickness can be within 1.5mm. In addition, the sensor uses optical technology to support localized TLC/AES/ECC encryption.
In addition, Synopsys International emphasized that the FS9500 has been provided to a TOP5 mobile phone manufacturer and will cooperate in mass production. The relevant models will be displayed at CES in January 2018.
