The world's first industrial-grade single-chip SATA SSD

Greenliant, an enterprise-level solid-state storage company, announced that its NANDrive GLS85LS embedded SSD has begun shipments to some customers. This "Chip SSD" is the world's first single chip package industrial SATA interface SSD.

NANDrive GLS85LS encapsulates the SATA interface NAND flash memory controller and SLC NAND flash memory particles in a single chip. Although such a chip is unlikely to lead out physical SATA interface, it is really a fake SATA data interface product.

The chip size is 14x24x1.85mm, at the same time known as the industry's smallest SSD, using 145ball BGA package, capacity optional 2GB, 4GB or 8GB, can work in the environment from minus 40 degrees Celsius to zero over 85 degrees, to meet the harsh industrial computer Environmental requirements.

Although such products are mainly targeted at enterprise applications such as IPC, we still have an illusion. If there are any manufacturers thinking of integrating the chip on a consumer-grade motherboard, what kind of situation will it be?
