Taiwan's large-size panel occupancy will decline to 33%

Global large-size panel sales are expected to be $97.2 billion in 2012, with an annual growth rate of 9%.

From the application point of view, Tuoba estimates that the development of the global large-size panel industry in 2011 mainly depends on the growth of flat-panel TVs. It is expected that the global TV panel demand will reach 226 million in 2011, with an annual growth rate of 13%. The display panel is already a mature industry, and global demand is expected to maintain a 3% growth rate in 2011.

Tuoba believes that the main driving force for the continued growth of global large-size panel output in the next two years will include the rapid increase of LED backlight penetration rate and the rapid entry of touch panels into the mid-size product application market. According to Takuya observation, the LED backlight penetration rate will accelerate in 2011 and will have a positive effect on the panel industry. Although LED backlights are currently saturated in notebook computers, the penetration rate of LED-backlit displays is expected to climb sharply from 20% in 2010 to 48% in 2011, and the penetration rate of LED-backlit TVs will also climb from 20.4% in 2010. 50% by 2011.

In terms of market share, in the past, Taiwan's panel makers in the world's large-size panel market share are as high as 40% -45%, but Tuoba estimates that the market share of Korean companies is expanding and China's high-generation panel production line has successively Due to factors such as mass production, the output value of China's large-size panels in 2011 may reach 29.3 billion US dollars, and the market share will fall to 33%.
