The TLC5510 is an 8-bit, half-flash architecture A/D converter from Texas Instruments Inc., which uses a CMOS process to significantly reduce the number of comparators. The TLC5510 offers a sampling rate of up to 20 Ms/s and is widely used in high-speed data conversion, digital TV, medical imaging, video conferencing, and QAM demodulators. The TLC5510 operates from a 5 V supply and consumes 100 mW (typical). Built-in sample and hold circuit simplifies peripheral circuit design. The TLC5510 features a high-impedance parallel interface and an internal reference resistor with an analog input range of 0.6 V to 2.6 V.
Pin function description:
The TLC5510 is available in a 24-pin chip package with pinouts as shown in Figure 1. The function of each pin is described as follows:
AGND: analog signal ground;
ANGLOG IN: analog signal input terminal;
CLK: clock input;
DGND: digital signal ground;
D1~D8: Data output. D1 is the data low and D8 is the data high;
OE: Output enable. When the OE is low, the data terminal is valid, otherwise the data terminal is high impedance;
VDDA: analog circuit operating voltage;
VDDD: digital circuit operating voltage;
REFTS: Internal reference voltage. When the internal voltage divider outputs a rated 2 V reference voltage, the terminal is short-circuited to REFT;
REFT: reference voltage (T stands for 2.6 V for Top);
REFB: reference voltage (B stands for Bottom is 0.6 V);
REFBS: Reference voltage. When the internal voltage divider produces a nominal reference voltage of 2 V, this terminal is shorted to REFB.
