The working principle of the circuit. The charger circuit is composed of a rectified power source, a constant current source, and a charging indicating circuit. 1 Integrated voltage regulator 7805 and R4, R5, R6, R7 constitute a 50mA, 100mA, 150mA, 200mA constant current source, respectively, selected by switch S to meet the needs of different capacity battery charging current. Two 1.2V Ni-MH rechargeable batteries are connected in series to charge, and the function of diode VD6 is to prevent the recharged battery current from being reversed. 2 transistor VT1, VT2, light-emitting diode VD5, etc. constitute charging indication circuit. When charging starts, because the voltage of the charged battery is very low, the positive potential of vD6 is also low, which is not enough to make VT2 turn on, VT2 is turned off, VT1 is turned on, VD5 is illuminated. The indication is charging. As the charging progresses, the positive potential of the VD6 gradually rises. When the rechargeable battery is fully charged, VT2 is turned on, turning VT1 off and VD5 is off. 3 Transformer T, rectifier bridge VD1 ~ VD4, filter capacitor C1, etc. constitute a rectified power supply, providing about 12V DC power supply for the charging circuit.
2. Debugging and use.
Mainly debug the extinguishing voltage of the charging indicator. The 1.2V Ni-MH rechargeable battery is about 1.4V when it is fully charged. Therefore, the 1.4V DC voltage can be temporarily connected to the charged battery position, and R3 is adjusted so that VD5 is just extinguished. It can also be equipped with two rechargeable Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. After charging for 16 to 16 hours with a regular current of 10 hours, adjust R3 so that VD5 is just extinguished. It is generally charged with a 10-hour current during use. For example, for a nickel-hydrogen rechargeable battery of about 500 mA, S is placed in a 50 mA range for charging; for a nickel-hydrogen rechargeable battery of about 1000 mAh, S is placed in a 100 mA range for charging; A nickel-hydrogen rechargeable battery of about 1500 mAh is charged in a 150 mA range for charging; for a nickel-hydrogen rechargeable battery of about 2000 mAh, S is placed in a 200 mA range for charging. The indicator light VD5 is on when charging, and the battery is fully charged when VD5 is off.
