At present, with the rapid development of the automobile industry and the rapid development of product designs, consumers have higher requirements for the high quality, reliability, durability and safety of automobiles. In addition, new energy and autonomous driving concepts are emerging in the automotive industry. Traditional automotive test solutions are no longer suitable for the current multi-parameter and highly customized test requirements. Domestic and foreign automotive test manufacturers are facing new trends and new challenges, and they are facing new challenges in solutions. Innovate through the old and strive for the first opportunity.
On September 25, NI (National Instruments, NI for short) participated in the largest vehicle and component testing and verification technology and service exhibition in China-the 2018 China International Auto Testing Exhibition (Auto Testing Exhibition). In this exhibition, NI focused on the ADAS_all_in_one solution for automotive safety testing with the theme of "Intelligent Connected Vehicles Provide Complete R&D Verification to Production Line Test Solutions".
Hardware-in-the-loop ADAS test solution
At present, the automotive industry is developing in the direction of autonomous driving, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are an important prerequisite for the development of autonomous driving. The introduction of the ADAS concept has changed the composition of the car's components and made the driving behavior of drivers different from the past. However, these changes are based on the car itself, so what the test system needs to do is to test the quality, reliability, durability and safety of the car in a brand-new hardware system and a brand-new use environment.
At the exhibition, NI's ADAS hardware-in-the-loop test (HL) system demonstrated a complete in-the-loop test capability for intelligent driving systems, and realized multi-sensor fusion hardware-in-the-loop, covering 77Ghz radar, camera, LTE-V, GNSS simulation, Test capabilities such as driving simulator, recording and playback, etc. The hardware-in-the-loop real-time test system has good compatibility and scalability, supports interaction with many scene simulation software, and can run vehicle or motor models on real-time systems and FPGA terminals.
The hardware-in-the-loop real-time test system uses scenario simulation software (SCANER studio/ Carmaker/ Prescan) to generate set scenarios to different Sensors on the smart car. To millimeter-wave radar, the V2X module/sensor is given to the V2X module/sensor through the RF radio frequency module, and the road anti-data collected by different sensors is sent to the electronic control unit (ECU). The ECU integrates various sensor data to make a decision. The vehicle dynamics model is implemented on the PXI platform.
At the same time, the entire system is also equipped with a GNSS simulator to simulate vehicle driving in different regions. The entire test link can be recorded and played back for follow-up actions and further detailed analysis of the algorithm. NI's hardware-in-the-loop test system can improve the security of the ADAS hardware-in-the-loop test system. Jia Qingchao, NI Asia-Pacific Automotive Marketing Manager, emphasized: "Our hardware-in-the-loop test system is based on a platform-based method, with good openness and flexibility. This platform-based test method consists of flexible hardware, open software and powerful The composition of the ecosystem can effectively respond to the rapid changes in smart car testing."
At the exhibition site, NI’s Ecological Alliance (ADAS iiT) was also unveiled, including driving simulators using innosimulation, SCAneR Studio, Camera test solutions, NI partner Konrad based on the required test solutions provided by NI VRTS, and NI alliance partners also provided The NI-based USRP for V2X testing, and NI’s GNSS simulation can perform data recording and playback functions.
NI and Eco Alliance partners have implemented algorithms and functional verifications such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), and Automatic Emergency Braking System (AEB).
Data acquisition software FlexLogger
In this exhibition, in addition to the ADAS multi-sensor fusion hardware-in-the-loop, NI also exhibited industry-leading enterprise-level production lines, laboratory equipment and data management solutions, smart cars, new energy vehicles, three-electric systems, electromechanical systems data test solutions Wait.
Among them, NI's latest data acquisition software FlexLogger is eye-catching. It can help users directly use hardware to build a flexible and scalable data logging system without programming. Users can use the configuration workflow for specific sensors to quickly set up, display, and record data from devices such as synchronized analog sensors. Just set up the hardware equipment, set the relevant parameters, and then customize the front panel according to the actual needs to achieve the customized effect. At the same time, the metadata of the recorded test configuration can also be automatically saved. The demo at the exhibition site also used NI DIAdem software to realize automatic screening, calling, analysis and reporting of test data records. After configuring the relevant files, the user can implement integrated operations such as data collection, data analysis, and report generation in FlexLogger.
FieldDAQ equipment was used for data collection in the live demo. It is worth noting that FieldDAQ is a rugged and durable device with IP67 water resistance, a temperature resistance range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius, and supports TSN (Time Sensitive Network) features to simplify the distributed impact caused by harsh environments. It is suitable to meet the needs of users to achieve accurate measurement as close as possible to the sensor.
