AC contactor use

Generally, the three-phase contactor has a total of 8 points, three inputs, three outputs, and two control points. The output and input are corresponding and can be easily seen. If you want to add a lock, you need to connect the line from the terminal of the output point to the control point.

First of all, you should know the principle of the AC contactor. He uses an external power source to apply to the coil to generate an electromagnetic field. After the power is applied, the contact point is disconnected after the power is turned off. Knowing the principle, you should figure out the contact point of the external power supply, that is, the two contacts of the coil, generally in the lower part of the contactor, and on each side. The other few inputs and outputs are generally in the upper part and are known at a glance. Also pay attention to the voltage of the external power supply (220V or 380V), which is generally marked. Also note that the contact point is normally closed or normally open. If there is self-locking control, the line can be based on the principle.

The AC contactor is mainly composed of four parts:

(1) Electromagnetic system, including attracting coil, moving iron core and static iron core;

(2) The contact system comprises three sets of main contacts and one to two sets of normally open and normally closed auxiliary contacts, which are connected with the moving iron cores;

(3) Arc extinguishing device, the AC contactor with large capacity is generally equipped with arc extinguishing device to cut off the arc quickly and avoid burning the main contact;

(4) Insulating housing and accessories, various springs, transmission mechanisms, short-circuit rings, binding posts, etc.

1. The voltage of the AC contactor should match the voltage of the line to prevent poor contact or burn the coil.

2. The current of the AC contactor is smaller than the actual current to prevent burning of the contacts.

3. AC contactor should not be used in places with excessive humidity or dust to prevent short circuit or open circuit.

4. If the AC contactor is used on a three-phase motor, it is better to use a thermal protector to protect the motor from being burnt.

5. There will be sparks when the AC contactor is engaged and disconnected, so it cannot be used in dangerous situations such as inflammable and explosive gases, unless a solid relay is used.
