China's connector market has the most potential for development
According to a report released by Bishop and Associates , a connector market analysis company, although connector sales volume continued to increase in the last two quarters of 2009 , the global connector market fell by about 25% in 2009 due to the overall market downturn. Among them, the demand for connectors from medical and military / aerospace OEMs has dropped by 5–7% . In addition, the price of connectors also appeared weak, falling by 5% . Low demand and excess capacity are major factors in connector price declines.
However, as current connector manufacturers are actively adjusting their inventory, and with the rapid growth of the consumer electronics, automotive electronics and communications terminal markets, the global connector market will still have great potential for development in the next three years. According to the forecast of the China Electronic Component Industry Association Information Center, by 2010 , the global connector production will reach 46.8 billion, and the market size will reach 51.5 billion yuan, with an average annual growth rate of 17% and 15% respectively .
At the same time, Asia has become the most promising market for connectors. Global Industry 's report shows that the Asian market will reach US$ 6.4 billion in 2010 , and China will become the world’s fastest growing and largest capacity connector market. It is estimated that by 2010 , China's connector market capacity will reach 25.7 billion yuan, and the future growth rate of China's connector market will continue to exceed the global average.
According to an online survey conducted by the "International Business Intelligence" website, the market demand for USB 2.0/3.0 , HDMI1.3/1.4 and 10G Ethernet connectors is expected to be the largest in 2010 .
USB 2.0/3.0 With the ever-increasing demand for connection bandwidth, the 480 mbps transfer speed of USB 2.0 has been insufficient to meet current and future application requirements. The introduction of the USB3.0 standard means that the USB interface is about to welcome another generation. USB3.0 supports a transfer rate of about 5Gbps , which is a big step forward in terms of transmission speed, power management, and flexibility. The industry generally predicts that by mid- 2010 , USB3.0 will usher in huge opportunities in applications such as mobile phones and portable Internet terminals.
