LED is changing China
What changes will LED bring to China? Tang Guoqing believes that LED will change China from three aspects: the government changes China through government projects and guidance documents such as the Olympic Games and the World Expo; market demand drives LED penetration into China's home lighting, backlight and landscape; in the process of LED popularization, A low-carbon society and environmental awareness will penetrate the hearts of Chinese people.
Tang Guoqing pointed out that in 2009, there were more than 40 companies engaged in LED chip production in China. The company has more than 150 MOCVDs, of which more than 135 production GaN MOCVDs have been installed, and about 18 production MOCVDs. The research equipment of the institute has also increased, and the epitaxial chip investment plans of various enterprises have been further accelerated, and its development has greatly exceeded the forecast in early 2009.

Where are the current market opportunities?

Xie Guanbin, a Beijing-based law firm, believes that in the face of attractive market opportunities, companies should pay attention to LED patent issues. As a venture capitalist, Tongchuang Weiye partner Ding Baoyu said his investment strategy. He believes that the high uncertainty of the upstream industry is more suitable for venture capital, while the middle and lower reaches are more suitable for PE investment or industrial capital. Opportunities and challenges brought by EMC
With the deepening of the ten-city project, a brand new term “contract energy management (EMC)†is gradually becoming familiar. Sun Jianhua of Destada Optoelectronics believes that it is necessary to take the government as the leading factor and gradually explore the EMC model in line with China's national conditions. Private capital has the opportunity to make a profit from EMC. EMC has broken through the bottleneck of investment in LED streetlight demonstration projects with high investment and high risks, ensuring maximum benefits and minimization of risks in production, consumption and finance.
However, Sun Jianhua also believes that there are certain risks in the promotion of EMC in China. The LED street lamp standards and application standards are not perfect or missing. At present, some problems have appeared in the application, and it should not be ignored as soon as possible; EMC is not a perfect one. The model needs to be further explored for improvement; product quality and reliability will directly determine success or failure.
How do investors choose LED companies?
The LED industry is booming, and related companies have become the target of risk investors. Many LED companies have financing needs. How should investors choose potential companies? Mei Fu, a partner of Oriental Fuhai, is optimistic about companies with the following characteristics: a learning-oriented team, good at cooperating with others, strong market development ability, diligent and trusting, not to be comfortable with the status quo, not to give up.
Mei Jian believes that the technology that can sell products is good technology, patents, technology, market profit, "I prefer a first-class entrepreneurial team to have a second-rate idea, rather than a second-rate entrepreneur team with first-class idea".

What are the challenges facing the LED industry today?
Professor Luo Xiaobing of Huazhong University of Science and Technology pointed out that China's LED packaging industry has large capacity, but it is all small-scale trade. China's LED street lamps "have the largest production capacity, but there are no well-known brands."
Dr. Liang Bingwen pointed out that the challenges faced by China's LED lighting industry are mainly lack of talents, serious delays in product standard testing and supervision, lack of market transparency, lack of independent intellectual property rights, lack of high-quality capital and investors, and foreign companies investing in the mainland.
Philips Zong Mingcheng believes that the challenges faced by LED lighting are cost performance issues, improvement of light efficiency, quality of lighting systems, establishment of standard systems, and development of new applications by leveraging LED advantages. LED street light technology challenges
Since the launch of “Ten Cities and Ten Thousand Miles†in 2009, LED street lighting technology has become a hot topic. In this forum, senior street lighting design expert Guangdong Zhaoxin Xu Liancheng said that at this year's Guangzhou Lighting Exhibition, some companies are working hard on product development. The products produced are very gratifying.
For street lighting design, Xu Liancheng reminds the industry to consider the wind resistance problem, "Let your street lights really stand in the wind and rain." Nowadays, the heat dissipation design of many street lamps does not take into account the problem of air convection, which causes the heat to be not actually exported, reducing the life of the LED.
Xu Liancheng advocates modular design. He believes that modularization not only avoids the risk of high-power power, IP protection is easy to do, maintenance is as convenient as conventional street lights, greatly reducing the maintenance burden of enterprises.
Chen Haijun, chief engineer of Ningbo Liaoyuan, believes that white LED street lights can help improve road lighting safety. He believes that road lighting should not only consider central vision, but also the ability to detect peripheral targets. White LED street lights with short-wavelength blue light are more conducive to human eyes to detect surrounding objects.
He also believes that "in terms of street lamps, it is the key to reduce the interface thermal resistance and reduce the air gap." Chen Daqing does not recommend the use of high-power LEDs above 3W as the light source for road lighting. The reason is that high-power LEDs are inevitably accompanied by the formation of large currents, which cause large heat and increase light decay. He told the participants that “the high-power integrated modules produced by several companies in China have achieved a luminous efficiency of more than 130Lm/W, the highest is close to 150Lm/W, and the temperature is controlled at around 50°C. In the second half, it reaches 160Lm/W. The above is indisputable."
Luo Xiaobing pointed out that the heat dissipation problem of LED devices is a systematic problem. There are LED chip thermal resistance, interface material thermal resistance, diffusion thermal resistance, environmental thermal resistance, etc. "We should reduce all thermal resistance at the same time is the key to solving heat dissipation."
Luo Xiaobing believes that by developing multi-layer ceramic technology and achieving integration and multi-function of LED packaging, reducing the size of LED packaging system and reducing packaging cost are the main trends of CoB technology.
Launch China CALiPER test report project
In this forum, the China CALiPER project was officially launched. CALIPER is an LED luminaire test project conducted by the US Department of Energy to provide objective data on SSL luminaires for the society and to guide related research and development activities. At present, there is no test project for LED lighting system in China. In order to promote the healthy development of the industry, Gaogong LED Industry Research Center decided to jointly launch China's CALiPER project with China Testing and Testing.
Dr. Zhang Xiaofei, director of the High-tech LED Industry Research Center, said that the current quality of LED lamps in China is uneven, which makes the public unable to correctly understand LEDs.
