JSR develops new high-brightness LED materials

Japan's JSR has developed a new LED material that can improve luminous efficiency and durability. High-brightness LED can be used as a light source for LCD TVs and lighting. The demand is expected to expand. By investing in a market of high-performance materials, JSR can also consolidate the business foundation of the next-generation market. It is mainly applied to the surface of light-emitting components, can increase the light-emitting efficiency to the past 10% of the coating material, and improve its softness of the packaging material, and has begun sample shipments. In general, a light-emitting device is covered with an encapsulating material. However, due to the difference in refractive index between the two, the light of the light-emitting device is reflected toward the inside of the LED. The refractive index of the newly developed coating material lies between the two, which can reduce the proportion of refraction and increase the amount of light emitted outward. According to experts from the China Epoxy Resin Industry Association, among the currently widely used packaging materials, the epoxy resin has the problem of heat resistance, and the silicone resin has the problem of airtightness. JSR combines the chemical reaction of organic materials with inorganic materials, develops new materials, and has the advantages of both, while combining the advantages of flexibility and durability.
