OLED – When you come to the OSRAM booth, visitors will not only be able to witness the moving effects of OLED, but also experience it for themselves. The lighting fixtures at the booth were planned by the well-known lighting design company LichtKunstLicht, led by lighting designer Andreas Schulz, using Orbeos OLED from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors to create reflective panels that form walls and partial ceilings and floors. Light floats freely in the room. Visitors can enter and walk through the installation to see for themselves that future lighting will get rid of the single luminaire concept of centering. In the past, traditional luminaire designs dominated the design orientation; but now with these organic light-emitting diodes, creativity can be used to the fullest. Professor Andreas Schulz said: "OLEDs will give buildings a new building material, which will completely change our concept of space and lighting. The design we propose can give viewers a glimpse into the future of lighting."
Long-lasting surface light source becomes a design element
OLED opens up new horizons for architects and lighting designers - basically, anything, furniture, walls, ceilings, windows and many other items can be turned into light sources. Even if you want the entire surface to shine (such as glowing ceilings and partition walls), it is no longer just a dream because of OLED.
Exhibition booths will showcase these application examples one by one. The first is the display cabinet that integrates the OLED illuminating panels, showing the development potential of colored or white light sources. The second is the use of 90 Orbeos lamps for museums and retail stores, making exhibits and products particularly eye-catching. Because OLED lighting is warm, soft and glare-free, museum exhibits can look more natural and attractive, and the effect is far superior to traditional glare.
In addition, there is a combined light-emitting panel with an area of 1 square meter, which allows the public to see the new surface light source and even produce image effects, as well as a wide variety of colors and shapes.
At the 2010 Light + Building exhibition, OSRAM Opto Semiconductors presented a new lighting option with hundreds of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). The theme of the exhibition was “Light as experience, light as work of artâ€.
The fourth design exhibit combines two new lighting technologies – LED point light sources and OLED surface light sources – to create a beautiful lighting design for different lighting conditions in the home.
Future lighting has unveiled new pages. OLEDs enable technology and energy efficiency to coexist and prosper, and have a beautiful appearance, making lighting an enjoyable experience.
