If the sound quality of the self-made speakers is still lacking, you can test and adjust it from the following aspects:
1. Check the cabinet for leaks
The glue between the cabinets is not strong, the surface of the counterbore of the cabinet is processed rough, and the incline is uneven, or there is no gasket on the joint surface of the junction box, speaker unit and cabinet counterbore, it will cause sound leakage. To find the method, you can use a piece of thin paper to put it in the box frame, junction box, junction of the speaker and the box when the speaker is working. If the thin paper is blown, it means there is a leak. If it is leaking at the junction of the cabinet, apply adhesive inside. If the leakage is in the junction box, the joint surface of the speaker and the cabinet, the surface of the counterbore should be smoothed and covered with rubber of appropriate thickness.
2. The bass is soft, lacks strength and is somewhat muddy.
This may be caused by the speaker being in an over-damped state. Properly increase the sound-absorbing material in the cabinet, or shorten the length of the inverted hole appropriately.
3. Lack of anger, bass cannot come out
The length of the inverter tube can be increased by reducing the sound-absorbing material, or the appropriate amount of sand can be poured into the box.
4. The sound is too noisy and the sound image is unnatural
It may be that the sensitivity of the mid-range or high-frequency unit is too high, making the speaker sound noisy. If so, a certain attenuation resistance and other methods can be added to the corresponding unit frequency division network. If you feel that the low-frequency and high-frequency units are sounding separately, especially if the sound jumps between the two units near the crossover point, then the polarity of the speaker unit may be reversed.
